Surrey Community Games – A Celebration of Judo!
What a day! We’ve officially wrapped up an incredible journey at the Surrey Community Games, marking the end of six weeks of free Judo coaching for children in Spelthorne.
Over the past weeks, more than 40 young participants stepped onto the mat, learning the fundamentals of Judo, building confidence, and discovering the joy of movement. Watching their progress has been truly inspiring, and we’re excited to continue supporting them as they take their next steps in the sport.
Today’s Judo Festival was the perfect way to celebrate their hard work, bringing together energy, enthusiasm, and a fantastic community spirit. The determination and focus shown by every child was outstanding – each throw, grip, and technique reflecting their dedication to learning.

A huge thank you to Spelthorne Borough Council, as well as Abby, Ben, and Antony, for their invaluable support in making this program possible. Your commitment to helping young athletes thrive has been instrumental in the success of this initiative.
A special shoutout to Adam, whose dedication and coaching efforts throughout the sessions and today’s event made a real difference. Seeing young leaders step up and help guide the next generation is what Judo is all about!
And of course, well done to all the children – you were absolutely amazing! Your enthusiasm and hard work have made this journey unforgettable.
Here’s to more Judo, more growth, and more incredible moments on the mat!
