Core Judo Coaches

Aaron Turner is the owner and head coach of Core Judo Coaching UAE.

Head coach Aaron Turner is an ex-GB athlete that has participated in Judo for over 25 years, with over 10 years’ experience as an international athlete. He represented Great Britain internationally at U15, U17, U21, U23 and Senior international levels and had competed successfully at European and World Team Championships.

Aaron is a multi Senior British National medallist, multi World Cup medallist and Commonwealth Tournament Champion who also assisted as a London 2012 Olympic training partner.

With over 10 years’ experience coaching within a school and club environment, Aaron brings a wealth of knowledge and skill to his position within Core Judo Coaching Staines.

He also won Sports Coach of the year for Runnymede 2024 working as Senior Coach at Core Judo.

Jonathon Purssey is the founder and head coach at Core Judo Coaching, he and our head coach Aaron Turner works as of the senior coaches in the club and we are honoured to be able to bring such a high-quality brand to Staines. He holds a degree in Economics & Organisational Studies and is currently studying for his diploma in advanced sports coaching at Sheffield Hallam University.

Jonathon is a former British & Commonwealth champion and has led Core Judo to become the one the top clubs in Great Britain. Jonathon is an ambassador for the Princes Trust and is a member of the BJA Coaching Commission who has worked with London Irish and London Welsh Rugby clubs on improving outcomes in the contact area.
