Meet Aaron Turner: Head Coach and Ex-GB Athlete
Aaron Turner, the owner and head coach of Core Judo Coaching UAE, brings a wealth of experience and accolades to Staines. With over 25 years of involvement in Judo and more than a decade as an international athlete, Aaron has represented Great Britain across multiple age levels, including U15, U17, U21, U23, and Senior international levels. His impressive career includes participation in European and World Team Championships, earning multiple Senior British National medals, World Cup medals, and the Commonwealth Tournament Championship. Additionally, Aaron served as a training partner for the London 2012 Olympics.
Aaron’s coaching experience spans over 10 years within school and club environments, making him a highly knowledgeable and skilled head coach. Recently, he was honored with the Sports Coach of the Year award for Runnymede 2024, a testament to his dedication and effectiveness as a Senior Coach at Core Judo.
Introducing Jonathon: Founder and Senior Coach
Jonathon, the founder and head coach at Core Judo Coaching, also joins the esteemed coaching team in Staines. Holding a degree in Economics & Organisational Studies, Jonathon is currently pursuing a diploma in advanced sports coaching at Sheffield Hallam University. His illustrious career includes being a former British & Commonwealth champion and leading Core Judo to become one of the top clubs in Great Britain.
As an ambassador for the Princes Trust and a member of the BJA Coaching Commission, Jonathon has contributed significantly to the sport. His work with London Irish and London Welsh Rugby clubs on improving contact area outcomes showcases his expertise and commitment to athletic excellence.
